      Self-motivation is an eLearning essential requirement; however, many online learners lack it, much to their surprise. After enrolling in distance learning courses, many learners fall behind and nurture the idea of giving up, as difficulties in handling a technological medium also seem insurmountable. In summary, the learning environment is important to successful student learning. To help online students, instructors should establish a safe, supportive, interactive, flexible and engaging online learning environment and make sure that environmental factors are taken into consideration within each stage of instructional design.

    Abstract. Transactional distance can influence students' motivation, participation, and engagement with learning. The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of correlation between "dialogue", "structure" and "learner autonomy" components and transactional distance and to examine the effects of these components on satisfaction and perceived learning of distance learners . The best way to cope with open distance e-learning is to take full responsibility for your own learning experience and environment. Your study world will be the environment you create - a room at home, a desk somewhere at work and, of course, the connections you make and the virtual networks you develop.
